Early childhood is the ideal time for children to adopt healthy lifestyle habits and to gain insight on the importance of sports and exercise. In accordance with that, a sports program is conducted at school for children aged three to seven. The program has been verified by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport and is aimed at promoting the optimal development of motor and psychophysical potential of children. The program content is modified to suit the interests and skills of preschool children, and is in accordance with their abilities. The development of children’s motor skills is encouraged: coordination, strength, speed, flexibility, balance, and precision. The program is held in the kindergarten’s gymnasium under the guidance of sports trainers. Throughout the entire academic year (twice a week for forty-five minutes), while playing, children learn the elements of various sports such as basketball, athletics, tennis, bowling, hockey, handball, gymnastics, and football.
